191127-Yong Kee Seafood Restaurant

Located in 43 Jln Besar, Singapore 208804, just diagonally opposite (left side) Jalan Besar MRT is a coffee shop. Yong Kee Seafood is a cook stall located in this coffee shop. The food here is surprisingly good with that traditional "Zhi Char" taste. If you do not mind eating in old school coffee shop without air conditioning, try out this place.
191127 - This is what we ate on this date. The total do not exceed $50 for 4 person. Food good and friendly to our pocket.

Water tofu (水豆腐)
A must pre-ordered dish if you wish to have this for dinner. Otherwise, it will be sold out.
Fried soya bean curd dip into a specially sauce. Very nice.

I am still testing the cooking skill of the chef here. Purposely ordered the garlic sweet potato leaves. I was not able to cook this vegetable properly. For some reason, this chef is able to fry this vegetables so well that we ended up loving this vegetable dish.

Sweet sour pork. This is an old school dish. Again the chef is able to achieve the kind of taste that we first tasted sweet sour pork. Crispy, sweet tangy flavor.

星洲炒米粉 Sin Chow Bee Hoon.
We tried this dish last month and was impress with its "wok hey" meaning the burning wok smell.
Today we tried the medium portion and find it a let down. Perhaps it is a bigger portion that we ordered? That is why no more "wok hey" for the been hoon?
